Cottey's run of home action continued tuesday with the Comets took on the Coyotes of Kansas Wesleyan. The teams split the contests, with KWU winning Game 1 in a 2-1 thriller, while Cottey controlled Game 2 in a 10-0 run rule contest.
Game 1 saw Amelia Gassman in the circle for the Comets. She kept the Coyotes at bay for most of the contest before crucial errors allowed KWU to score 2 in the top of the 5th. Catcher Lauren Johnson would answer in the bottom of the 6th with a solo Home Run. But, the Comets could not capitalize in the 7th with runners on 2nd and 3rd with no outs, ending the contest with the 2-1 margin.

Amelia Gassman also went yard for Cottey with a solo Home Run in the 2nd inning. Karina Ramirez also went 2 for 3 at the plate at the leadoff spot. Brooke Vicory went all 5 innings in the pitchers circle for the Comets, shutting the Coyotes down.
