St. Louis, Mo. – The Cottey College Comets basketball team prepare for their first conference road game as they head to St. Louis, Missouri to take on Harris-Stowe State University Hornets at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday December 1, 2022.
The Comets (4-3) are coming off of their first road loss against Philander Smith College. The Comets were led in that game by Sara Montesdeoca with 12 points. Also going double digits for the Comets was Derin Akdeniz, with 11 points and Claudia Hadlock with 11 points. Sara Montesdeoca also led the Comets on the boards with 10 rebounds.
The (2-5) Hornets are coming off two wins including a conference win against Hannibal-LaGrange where Destiney Amaefula led the team with 16 points, eight rebounds, two assists and two steals. Autumn Brown tallied 15 points, three rebounds, two assists and one steal, and Taia Smith had a double-double as she recorded 10 points, 16 rebounds, four steals, two assists and one block.
