Sarah Trout began coaching Archery at Cottey College in 2024.
Sarah Trout, a native of Barton County, Missouri, has dedicated her career to the fields of physical education, exercise science, and sport management. She graduated from Pittsburg State University in 2005 with a bachelor’s degree in physical education and a minor in Psychology. Sarah's passion for sports and education led her to the Lamar School District, where she taught for 12 years. During her time there, she initiated the district's archery program, successfully coaching nearly 150 athletes in its first year.
In 2017, Sarah earned her master’s degree in Kinesiology from Pittsburg State University. That same year, she transitioned into higher education, joining Missouri Southern State University (MSSU) as a faculty member. At MSSU, she taught courses in education, exercise science, and sport & recreation management. Sarah was also instrumental in coordinating the MSSU Archery Tournament and remained an active participant in the National Archery in the Schools Program (NASP).
Sarah is a Level 2 U.S. Archery certified coach and is currently working toward her Level 3 certification. Her dedication to advancing her knowledge led her to pursue a PhD in Kinesiology-Pedagogy at the University of Arkansas. Her research interests include sports psychology and the science of exercise, areas in which she is deeply passionate.
