COMETS FALL IN FINALE 89-62 TO 5TH RANKED COLLEGE OF THE OZARKS

Nevada, MO. - The Comets finished off a promising bounce back season with a closer than advertised game against the 5th ranked division two school in the country tonight.

Cottey opened up with an outstanding first quarter and took a 18-12 lead.  The Bobcats recovered in the second quarter to regain the lead, but only held a one point lead at the half.  The Comets rebounded well and were able to pressure shooters into tough spots in the first half.

The second half belonged to the Bobcats as they outscored the Comets 54-28 and eventually led the Comets in bench points 50-9.  Cottey was led by Kelsey Acton (SR/Traverse City, MI.) who scored 24 points on 22 shots.  It was a great way to cap off a tremendous career for Acton who led the Comets in scoring in each of her four seasons.  Kelsey wasn't the only Acton hanging them up after the game.  Kasey Acton (SR/Traverse City, MI.) finished the night and her outstanding career with 6 points and 2 steals.

Latasha Griggs (SR/Boise, ID.) sat out the finale because of an injury.  Griggs ended her senior year averaging 8.5 points and 6.1 rebounds per game.
