The Cottey College Comets dominate in an 87-50 win in their season opener against Kansas Christian College at Hinkhouse Gymnasium on October 27, 2022. The end of the first quarter found the Comets with a commanding 20-7 lead. The Comets maintained their lead and shot an astounding 67% in the second quarter, going into halftime with a 41-17 lead. The Comets cruised through the second half, putting 46 points to Kansas Christian's 33. Cottey College scored 20 points off the turnover and 36 from the paint in their dominant outing to start the season. Cottey College also shot 11-23 (47.8%) from 3. 

Key players for the Comets include Claudia Hadlock who made her college debut with the Comets leading the team in scoring with 22 points hitting 4 three pointers in 37 minutes. Olivia Pruitt produced a double-double scoring 16 points and adding 10 rebounds. Pruitt also led the Comets in assists on the night with 6. Aliya Grotjohn also made her college debut and poured in 17 off the bench while Lauren Jones added 13 going 2-3 from 3.

The Comets are back in action Saturday, October 29 at 1:00 pm against Avila University.
