The three game winning streak in the AMC came to a close on Thursday night in Fulton, MO for the Cottey College Basketball team. They were tripped up by the Owls of William Woods, falling 56-49.

The contest was close the entire way, with only a single point separating the teams after three quarters of play. But down the stretch, the Owls hit shots, and the Comets did not. Sarah Hunt was once again the leading scorer for the Comets, putting 18 points on the board. She was joined in double figures by Autumn Wallace, who scored 13 points to go along with 8 rebounds. Claudia Hadlock came off the bench to provide 6 points, while Jya Barksdale had 3 steals on the defensive end. The Comets struggled shooting the ball as a team, hitting only 29.3% from the field, and 25% from 3 point land. 

The Comets fall to 11-6 Overall, and 3-4 in AMC play. It is a quick turnaround, as the Comets host Harris-Stowe in a home contest Saturday January 20th, with a 1pm tip-off.
