The story of the night for the Cottey Comets was shooting 22.6% from the field, 8% from 3-point land, and 53.8% from the free throw line. Those kind of numbers are tough to overcome, no matter how good of defense a team might play. As it was, the Stephens Stars came away with the victory 68-44 inside Hinkhouse Gymnasium.
The Comets did not have any scorers in double figures, but Sarah Hunt led the scoring for the Comets with 8 points, while Claudia Hadlock and Sara Montesdeoca were just behind with 7 apiece. Autumn Wallace and Dally Coulter were the leaders on the boards, grabbing 6 each.
The Comets return to action Saturday, February 10th in a road contest at Missouri Baptist. The Comets defeated the Spartans 75-52 at home earlier this year. Gametime is set for 1pm on Saturday afternoon.
