Hinkhouse Gym has become something of a fortress for Cottey Basketball. The unique environment often provides the Comets a boost, while draining the opposition. It did so on Tuesday night, as the Comets ran away with the AMC contest with Hannibal-LaGrange 70-37.

The Comets took a 13-4 lead after the first quarter, and never looked back. They also finally broke out of their shooting slump, getting over 40% Field Goals for the first time in a few games. With the lead built up, it was a chance for the Comet starters to get some rest on the night, a crucial note as they have two more games this week. Claudia Hadlock had 15 points to lead all scorers, while Sarah Hunt and Lauren Jones joined her in double figures with 11 and 12 points respectively. Senior Olivia Pruitt put in 7 points to add to the offensive performance. Dally Coulter was once again the leading rebounder, pulling in 10 rebounds.

With the win, the Comets are 14-10 Overall, 6-8 in AMC play. They currently sit 5th, just a game behind William Woods. 

The Comets rest for a day before returning to Hinkhouse on Thursday for a Home contest against William Woods, slated to start at 5:30pm.
