The American Midwest Conference Tournament finished on Monday, with Columbia College winning the title on the Womens side. Today, the conference announced the All-Tournament Team, where Akyria James was named to the team. The Cottey freshman stepped up for the Comets during the tournament, providing a much needed spark while scoring 11 points during their matchup with Williams Baptist. James fought injuries throughout the year, but was playing her best ball near the end of the season. She saw action in 19 contests, getting 3 starts, while shooting 40% from the 3-point line. A good ball-handler for the Comets, the future looks bright for Cottey with James on the squad.
