The 2024-25 Basketball season for the Cottey Comets came to a close in the quarterfinals of the American Midwest Conference tournament. The Comets fell to the Stephens Stars 61-53 in a tight contest. 

The first quarter was just a taste of what was to come, as the Stars ended the first period up 20-19. The 2nd quarter would follow a similar script, seeing a 34-30 halftime score. It was balanced scoring for the Comets with four players scoring in the first quarter, and three more getting on the board in the 2nd. In what plagued the Comets all year, a slow start to begin the 2nd half would sink the ship. Cottey would only score six points in the quarter, while Stephens would put up 14 in the frame. A 4th quarter comeback would fall short, ending Cottey's season. 

On the night, Sarah Hunt was the Comets leading scorer with 22 points. Autumn Wallace and AuShae Farris joined her in double figures with 10 and 13 points respectively. Wallace was also the leading rebounder, grabbing 7 boards. Akyria James would be the assists leader, dishing out five to her teammates. 

Cottey's season ends at 19-10 Overall. 19 wins matches the program high for a season, and many records were broken this season.
