The Cottey College Golf team has captured their first team tournament title in program history, taking home the top spot at the 2024 Scots Fall Invitiational, hosted by Lyon College. The Comets took down three other teams in the competition with consistent play up and down the entire lineup. Sara Golden led the way for the Comets with a Top 5 finish individually, while freshman Nora Schuh made a splash with her first collegiate Top 10 performance. Schuh was one of the few golfers to improve on Day 2, shaving four strokes off of her Day 1 total. Dally Coulter and Maddie Brennaman finished 14th and 17th respectively, while Savanah Topping finished 30th. In Golf, the top four individual performers on each team will have their strokes added up to get a team score. 

The Comets were the top performing team on both days of competition. The Course at Eagle Mountain in Batesville, Ark. was the site of the tournament, with a Par 72 and over 6000 yards from the White tees. The tournament is the first team title in program history, improving upon the teams first ever Runner-Up finish earlier this fall season. Senior Sara Golden holds the Individual record for a single round, as well as for an individual tournament score. 

Cottey will have a week off before heading to the Evangel Fall Invitational, hosted at Twin Hills Golf and Country Club in Joplin, Mo. on October 7th and 8th.
