The Cottey Comets Golf team got the spring season underway at the William Woods University Spring Invitational on Monday and Tuesday. The tournament was held at Tangelwood GC in Fulton, MO. Players from nine teams in the region took to the tee to compete. The Comets had two individuals competing in freshmen Nora Schuh and Savanah Topping. Due to the Comets having limited participants, no team score was kept for Cottey.

Savanah Topping got her first birdie of the spring season when she birded Hole #1. Topping would also see an 11-stroke improvement from Day 1 to Day 2. She would also post a collegiate personal record on Day 2 of the competition. Topping would finish in 39th place.

Nora Schuh would also log her first birdie of the new year on Hole #2 on Day 2 of the competition. Schuh would finish in 28th place. 

The Comets return to action next week at the UHSP Spring Invite April 7-8 at the Gateway National Golf Links in Madison, IL.
