The Comets Track and Marathon squads were far and wide this weekend, competing at various venues across the country. For three Comets, it was Sacramento, CA, the location of the NAIA Marathon Classic.
Avery Morris, Kyndal Soukup, and Taylor Rechenmacher took on the incredible 26.2 mile race, and each finished the grueling event. Morris took 29th in NAIA competition, while Soukup took 32nd place, and Rechenmacher finished in 36th place. The trio competed as a team as well, snagging a Top 5 finish, taking home 5th place.
A day earlier, the rest of the squad took on the Crimson & Gold Invitational at Pittsburg State University. Madalenn Fee, Kate Soukup, and Jessie Mick took part in the 800M and 300M respectively. Fee's time of 2:16.59 hit the National "B" standard for qualification to the 2025 NAIA Indoor Track Nationals in the 800M race.
The Comets have a break between semesters, but will hop back into competition on January 18th, at the Coach Alsup Open, hosted by Northwest Missouri State.
