Comets Take 4th at AMC Indoor Championships

Pricipia College in Illinois was the site of the 2025 American Midwest Conference Championships. The Cottey Comets brought home some impressive hardware, including the Athlete of the Meet award.

Junior Madalenn Fee was the Athlete of the Meet, proving her all-around prowess as the competition's most valuable athlete. She took 4th in the Long Jump, 1st in the Mile Run, 1st in the 600M Run, and 1st in the 1000M run. She was also a member of the 3rd place team on the 4x400M relay. Other members of the 4x400 relay were Freshman Jessie Mick, Junior Hannah Hayduk, and Junior Joliette Johnson

Cottey had 2 other Comets make the medal stand in their individual events, with Hannah Hayduk taking silver in the 400m Dash, and Jessie Mick also grabbing a silver in the 600m run. The Comets would also get point scoring performances from Kate Soukup in the 1000m and Mile Ruun, Avery Morris in the 5000m and 3000m races, Mikaela Fabey in the 800m Run, Joliette Johnson in the 400m Dash, and Hayduk in the 800m Run.

The Comets would finish in 4th as a team, while Columbia College would take the team title.

Madalenn Fee has qualified for the NAIA Indoor National Championships in multiple events, which will take her talents to Gainesville, Florida, starting February 27th.

Cottey now turns to Outdoor season, with the Bearcat Invitational at Southwest Baptist on March 28-29 as the first competition of the Outdoor season.
