Comets Streak Ends at 7

Cottey Womens Volleyball drops to #14 in nation Columbia College.

Cottey College drops their home game 3-0 to #14 in the national Columbia College Cougars in the Volleyball game at Hinkhouse on November 1, 2022.


Set 1: Cottey 16 – Columbia 25
Your Cottey College Comets proved a tough opponent in Set 1, though the touch Columbia College Cougars were impossible to overcome. The undefeated in conference Cougars took Set 1 25-16.

Set 2: Cottey 14 – Columbia 25
The Comets matched the Cougars point for point until Columbia's Ellie Rockers went on a six point run. The Comets never gave up, making it difficult for Columbia to seal the game. Mahalia Swink went on a three point run to stave off the Set 2 match with two consecutive kills from Kyleigh Talbott. Ultimately a kill by Columbia's Luisa Ferreira ended Set 2 with a 25-14 win for the Cougars.

Set 3: Cottey 17 – Columbia 25
Cottey again made the path to a win for Columbia difficult with a strong showing in set 3 of the game. Columbia defeated Cottey 25-17 in Set three end the game 3-0, remaining undefeated in Conference play.

Alesia Cooley and Kyleigh Talbott both led the Cottey College Comets with 5 kills on 17 and 12 attacks respectively. Valencia Zamora led the team with 9 digs and Staley Stallaby led the team with 11 assists.


The Comets are back in action Thursday at 6:00 pm at Home versus Stephens College.
