It may have been a much slower start than Coach Marla Kannady Foreman was hoping for, but at the end of the day the Cottey Comets got the job done during a road contest at Ozark Christian College. The Comets would drop the first set 19-25 before taking the next three sets.
Magdalen Dougherty was the top performer on the night for the Comets, puttin gup 15 Kills, 14 Digs, and 3 Blocks. Tatum Marang was also in double digits in Kills with 12, while also garnering 21 Digs. Kailee Hooper was the defensive star, gathering 29 Digs as a leader on the back row. Gracie Mead made a solid contribution on defense, with 7 Blocks for the Comets.
The Comets victory lifts them to 3-6 Overall on the season. Cottey has a week off before heading to the University of Health Sciences and Pharmacy in St. Louis, MO for the UHSP Classic on September 13th and 14th.
